New Media Award
The Newcastle Poetry Prize New Media Award is a recent initiative to foster new directions in Australian Poetry. Each year, the award is judged by a distinguished new media artist and poet and the winning entry published on the Newcastle Poetry Prize website. The New Media Award carries a $2000 first prize.

What is New Media?
A New Media poem can include text, images, sound, music and animation. It is created as a ‘flash’ upload document no larger than 5 megabytes.
Can teams enter New Media?
Yes. Collaborations are permitted between poets, flash designers and sound designers.
